Sharing Loneliness

Heads or tails? Flip a coin. If you’re lucky enough to have called the face correctly, congratulations! You just became a victim of chronic loneliness. In fact, between you and I, one of us is likely already a victim.

The same modern world that boasts the wealthiest, healthiest, and most connected people in human history also finds itself with the most lonesome recorded generation.

In the face of this modern epidemic, how is it possible that in the “age of connection”, the world is becoming increasingly disconnected?

Heads or tails?

Flip a coin. If you’re lucky enough to have called the face correctly, congratulations! You just became a victim of chronic loneliness. In fact, between you and I, one of us is likely already a victim.

Except that, of course, chronic loneliness weakens your immune system, increases your susceptibility to dangerous and risky habits, and is linked to other problematic mental health disorders

Which begs the question: how is it possible that in the same modern world that boasts the wealthiest, healthiest, and most connected people in human history, we finds the most lonesome recorded generation?
